October 3, 2011

Today I woke up around 7:45 and headed to school around 8:30. I had work study from 9:00-11:00, which wasn’t too bad because we got to put labels on a lot of the books today and then shelve them, so it was more rewarding than other days we had done it. After work-study, I had lunch with a few other girls in one of the classrooms. At 12:00, I met with my Dante discussion group to come up with our discussion questions for the day. I had Italian from 1:30-2:45 and then Dante from 3:00-5:00. Our Dante class today was out and about in the city in various places that pertained to the Divine Comedy, which was kind of fun because we weren’t confined to the classroom. It was very hot out today but, thankfully, we were in the shade so it wasn’t too bad. We had some good discussion about the different cantos we had read for the day in various piazzas, which was a lot of fun as well. At 5:00, most of the class went off to their drawing class and I wandered back toward home. I grabbed a few groceries and then caught the bus home around 5:45. Once home, I replied to a few emails and finished up for my homework tomorrow. Now I am all done with my homework and can relax the rest of the night!

For dinner tonight, we started with spaghetti noodles with a light basil and tomato sauces, which Andrea made and was very delicious. You can always tell when he has made a dish because it has a little more of a bite to it. Dad, you would love everything he makes! Everything Daniella makes too, of course, but especially the dishes he cooks. For the second dish, Daniella and Franzi had some sort of meat, while Andrea and I had pears and cheese. The pears were perfectly ripe and definitely in season—they tasted like Harry and David pears and they were just from the market! The cheese was delicious as well and I just love the combination of pears and cheese. For dessert, we had the same cake we had last night that I had really liked so I was happy to have that again! It was nice to all be back together for dinner again. It was weird being an only child!

Wow, this is probably the shortest blog post I have ever written. But I guess that is bound to happen every once in a while and you are probably thankful for it :) I will not ramble now, either, and let you all go out and enjoy the fall day! Speaking of which, it is supposed to cool down later this week, I think, so I am REALLY looking forward to that. Granted, with the cool weather comes the rain but, at this point, I am willing to deal with the rain. Have a wonderful rest of your Monday and hopefully I’ll have something more interesting to say tomorrow!

Love, Kari
