I apologize in advance because this blog is going to be quite short and not very interesting, as I have done very little today. But that will give you more time to read my London blogs from the past week. I woke up this morning at 10:45, which was absolutely wonderful and had breakfast in my pajamas. Franzi was still asleep so I brought my computer out to breakfast with me and was uploading my London photos (which you can see at http://kariinitaly.shutterfly.com/pictures/408) and ended up drinking tea and doing that for about an hour. Around 11:45, I heard people at the door and some friends of Daniela and Andrea’s came in, apparently to have lunch over here. I had no idea they were coming and, therefore, was still in my pajamas. I was also not feeling very well at all this morning (I have a cold…) so I looked even worse. Of course they came in and Daniela introduced me to them, but thankfully explained that I was sick. What a bad first impression :P Oh well.

Once they were over, I was more motivated to get ready for the day, although I stayed in the sweatpants and sweatshirt that I had slept in. When I looked a little more presentable, I headed to the supermarket to get groceries for the week because I didn’t have anything left. It was really a lovely day out but it did kind of wear me out to walk to the supermarket and back, so I figured I had better lay low today. I have a tendency to overdo it when I am sick and I already did that for the past week in London, so I kind of owe it to myself to relax today and tomorrow. When I got back from the supermarket, Franzi had left for an internet café and Daniela and Andrea were still entertaining so I decided to do a little bit of homework. I don’t have much left so I’m finishing the last of it up a little bit at a time. When I came back out of my room about an hour later, I had the house to myself. Franzi was going to be gone until dinner and Daniela and Andrea were out for the evening. I decided I would try to Skype my family to tell them about London, not knowing if Skype would work with my internet here at home. However I got lucky and it worked very well so I got to Skype with all of them and then with Sonja for a bit longer :) After that, I did some reading for class and uploaded some more photos, taking advantage of the good internet.

Daniela left us dinner this evening, as they were out. We started with penne pasta with a creamy tomato/cheese sauce. We followed that with some cooked vegetables and bread and cheese for me, meat for Franzi. We finished off with some incredibly delicious pineapple cake thing that Daniela had made for their lunch today. It was kind of nice to have the house to ourselves this evening and just kind of relax at dinner. Now I’m going to do a little more homework, read for a little bit, and then head to back to try and sleep off this cold. I hope you’re all having a lovely weekend!
