Venerdì (Friday)

September 2, 2011

So I know I already posted a blog this morning but because I don’t have Internet again until Monday, I am going to write a post about today so far.

This morning we had our first Italian quiz and I aced it! Woohoo! Hopefully I will continue to do well with Italian because I really love it. It’s definitely easy to confuse with Spanish, however. Oh well.

During our second half of class today, our professors brought us to the Italian student “hang out” and information place as well as the public library where we are now members. The library is in an old mosque that is VERY cool and it’s a beautiful library. It’s even open until midnight and we can get wifi there so that will be nice. So, for all of you who want to Skype, there may be a way!

After exploring the library, we were allowed to go off on our own to start our free afternoon. Willi, Franzi and I headed toward the Bolboli Gardens. On our way, we stopped quickly in the Disney Store (of course…my goal is to visit all the Disney Stores in the world) and got a bite to eat for lunch. When we got to the Bolboli Gardens, all we had to do was show a certain card that lets us get into many museums and gardens for free! It’s SO nice because we don’t have to worry about seeing it all in one day or paying a lot to see it again. It was REALLY hot today so we decided to find a spot in the shade to write some letters and postcards. We explored the park a little bit and then found a bench in the shade. It was so lovely. The palace and gardens are kind of up on a hill overlooking the city, which makes for stunning views.

When we got to hot, we headed back toward the school, stopping in some shops on our way. It was definitely a good day to be in the air-conditioned stores. It’s about 95 degrees…SO HOT. After a while, we got back to Linguaviva so I could get my backpack out of the office and use the Internet for a little bit. It’s air-conditioned here too so it’s lovely. My feet are very tired too so it’s nice to have a break.

In a bit, Willi and I are going to head over to her house so I can borrow some leggings and we can get some gelato. Then I’ll probably head home and pack for the weekend and just relax a little bit. Then it’s off to Pisa and Cinque Terra for the weekend! So I’ll post again Monday!

Have a wonderful Labor Day weekend!

xoxo
